Naming and Gradations
Characterization of the different gradations of Ylang-Ylang oil is based on the duration of the distillation process of the flowers: a complete distillation process takes 20 to 24 hours. Steam distillation is the most commonly used method.
Ylang-Ylang essential oil Complete:
the plant material is distilled for 10 to 20 hours; this is done without the interruptions and skimming that take place in the fractional distillation process
Ylang Ylang essential oil is widely used in comsetica and, for example, is the base for many well-known top brand perfumes. Ylang Ylang oil smells wonderfully warm and sultry and has typically tropical tones. Ylang Ylang essential oil combines well with other essential oils such as Bergamot, Sandalwood, Rose, Petitgrain.
