Mattisson Hawthorn Complex
Suggested retail price: €23.95
Mattisson Hawthorn Complex tincture is a balanced blend of Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata, flos and fructus), Mistletoe (Viscum Album, herba) and Asian Water Nuthatch (Centella Asiatica, herba).
What is a tincture?
A tincture is an alcohol-based solution of various herbal extracts. These herbs are extracted from dried plants, shrubs, leaves, mushrooms, seeds, resin and flowers, among others. All valuable substances are manufactured by soaking them in pure, organic alcohol. The alcohol ensures that the active ingredients are properly extracted from the herbs and at the same time it functions as a preservative. Finally, the tincture is strained, leaving a powerful mother tincture.
The advantage of a tincture over a regular supplement is that absorption is faster. This is because a tincture is absorbed directly into the blood via the buccal mucosa and therefore does not have to go through the entire digestive system. In addition, it is easier to dose in a targeted manner than with any other supplement, because you can determine the amount of drops yourself.
Hawthorn
Crataegus is derived from the Greek word "kratos," which stands for strength and vigor. This referred to the pronounced hardness of the wood. Originally, it is native to Europe and Siberia. Major constituents are flavonoids, aromatic amines, phenolic acids and triterpene acids.
Mistletoe
Viscum comes from the Latin "viscosus," indicating the sticky contents of the berries. Album means white and denotes the color of the berries. Originally, the berry is native to Europe and northwest Africa. Major constituents are amines, amino acids, tannins, flavonoids and polypeptides.
Asian Waternail
Centella asiatica, or Hydrocotyle asiatica is derived from the Latin word "hudor" and "katyle," which means something like water cup and points to the tub-shaped leaves of this plant. The origin of this plant is South Asia, Australia and South Africa. Major constituents are triterpenoids, saponins, triterpene acids, essential oils and bioflavonoids.
