Green Tea Extract is an herb made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. This tea plant grows mainly in cool mountains with a subtropical climate in Southeast Asia. Green tea has traditionally been a very popular beverage in China and Japan. Because this potent tea is not fermented, it retains the active active ingredients that green tea naturally has. Green tea contains many antioxidants called polyphenols: the main polyphenols in green tea are catechins and EGCG.
