origin: Madagascar and Réunion (previously: Bourbon)

The oil is distilled from the leaves of a cross between Pelargonum captatum and Pelargonum radens. This cultivar is referred to as Pelargonum graveolens cv. Rosé and Pelargonum roseum asperum cv. Bourbon

- geranium bourbon oil provides the richest, most refined aroma of the geranium oils and is much loved by perfume designers;
- it is preferred by many aroma specialists over the oils of other geraniums, including for therapeutic purposes.

some differences in chemical composition between "ordinary" Geranium oil (from Egypt) and Geranium oil, Bourbon (from Madagascar):

• Geranium bourbon contains a-guaiadene; this substance is not found in geranium oil from Egypt;
• Geranium bourbon contains no 10-epi-gamma-eudesmol; this substance is found in geranium oil from Egypt; 
• Geranium bourbon contains less citronellol

Applications
- The therapeutic properties of Geranium oil and Geranium oil Bourbon show strong similarities.
