A brief history of aromatherapy
In the past, the knowledge of plants was used by our ancestors. They knew which plants were edible and which plants smelled good when burned. Herbs were burned for the sick, in religious rituals but also to drive away evil spirits. The use of aromatic plants in medicine is known from 2000 years before Christ. The Egyptians in particular were geniuses when it came to aromatic plants. They used them not only in medicine, but also as cosmetics and for daily hygiene. The dead were embalmed with myrrh and cedar wood extract to prevent the decomposition process.

Use of essential oils
It is possible to use essential oils internally, but because of their strength, a doctor or expert should always be consulted when using them internally.

Aromatic lamp
For every mood and situation there is an essential oil or an aromatic mixture to be found. With a few drops of oil with some water evaporating in the aroma lamp, any atmosphere is created, ranging from rest to entrepreneurship, from sick - or children's room to study.

Bathing
Because essential oil does not mix with water, it is best to mix the oil with some milk or cream first. With baths, about ten drops of oil in a full bath, is sufficient. The body relaxes through the warmth of the water and opens up to the action of the essential oils.

Massages
Massage provides comfort and healing and is one of the best ways to relieve tension. It is no wonder that massage is the oldest and most important form of aromatherapy. In massage, essential oils penetrate deep into the skin, and consider the effect of the essential oil on the psyche. Massage and aromatherapy together are a rock-solid combination.

Mix a few drops of essential oil e.g. jojoba or almond oil for a fine massage or body oil.

Tip!    About 20 drops of essential oil equals 1 ml.

How to use:

Aromatic lamp
In a full container of water, use 5 to 10 drops of essential oil. When you light the tea light at the bottom, the heating of the water will cause the oil to evaporate and spread throughout the room. Smelling an essential oil works mainly psychologically on mood and emotion.

Aromatic stream
This is an electric aroma atomizer. Atomizing it does not change the composition of the oil. Unscrew the filter located at the bottom of the aroma streamer. Drip 10 to 20 drops of essential oil on it. Put the filter back in, plug into the socket and you are done.

Bath
For a whole-body bath: 3 tablespoons of tidal salt and 10 to 20 drops of essential oil. Be careful with the dosage with some oils like peppermint, thyme, cinnamon, and mug wort. It is also a matter of preference/taste. So, start with a low dosage.
Instead of using Wadden Sea salt, you can also use 20 ml of bath oil. Bath oil dissolves directly into the water. Use the same dosage of oil. It is advisable to mix the bath oil with the essential oil beforehand.
Bath salts are cleansing, bath oil is nourishing for the skin.

Bath foam
Use about 3% essential oil in a basic bath foam.

Body milk
Again, the dosage is 3% so in 50 ml of body lotion, up to 60 drops of essential oil.

Creams
For 50 grams of cream 5 to 15 drops of essential oil of choice.

Odor stones
These are porous stones that absorb oil and release it slowly. Drizzle 1-5 drops of essential oil on the stone. Put the stone on the bedside table for at night when you have a cold.

Scented lace
In our assortment we have terra cotta baked beads that are porous. You can hang these beads on a leather lace and put 1 drop of essential oil on it. You will have the oil with you every day and it will work as a fragrance but also in the aura.

Scented jars
The clay scented jars from Het Geurenrijk absorb the oil very quickly and let the scent through the wall of the jar. Ideal for the bedroom, toilet, bathroom, car, living room and office and even in summer on the terrace with Citonella, Lemon or clove oil to ward off insects.

You can use about 3% essential oil in a base oil. Massage oil is a mixture of almond oil and Jojoba oil possibly with additional essential oil added for the right effect.

Steam bath for the face
Put 1 tablespoon of tidal salt and 3 drops of essential in a bowl of hot water, put a towel over your head and the bowl. Let the steam with the oil soak in for about 10 minutes and then treat the face with a nourishing oil or cream.

Steam bath for the airways
Put 1 tablespoon of tidal salt and 3 drops of essential oil in a bowl of hot water, put a towel over your head and the bowl. Inhale the steam and oil for about 10 minutes and let the steam with the oil do its beneficial work.

Mix 1 tablespoon Wadden Sea salt or 10 ml bath oil with 5 to 10 ml of essential oil. 15 to 20 minutes with your feet in the water. Foot baths are very cleansing and energy draining. A very good aromatherapy method.

Feet massage
Through the soles of the feet energy can be absorbed and removed very easily, as has become known through the various foot reflexology methods. It is very beneficial to make a mixture of the essential oil you need, fitting the complaint or emotional problem, into a balm or cream. Treat the feet 1 or 2 times a day.

Aromatic meditation
Choose an oil that suits your mood of the moment, gently inhale the oil through the nose, smell the oil, and put a drop on both your wrists. (Beware, not all oils can be put directly on the skin!!) Sit quietly and let the oil find its way through your body, you can take the scent inside, by being aware of your breath. 10 minutes is long enough.
