Mattisson Elder complex tincture is a balanced blend of Common Elder (Sambuccus fructus & flos), Silver Lime (Tilia tomentosa, flos) and Yarrow (Achilea millefolium, herba).
What is a tincture?
A tincture is an alcohol-based solution of various herbal extracts. These herbs are extracted from dried plants, shrubs, leaves, mushrooms, seeds, resin and flowers, among others. All valuable substances are manufactured by soaking them in pure, organic alcohol. The alcohol ensures that the active ingredients are properly extracted from the herbs and at the same time it functions as a preservative. Finally, the tincture is strained, leaving a powerful mother tincture.
The advantage of a tincture over a regular supplement is that absorption is faster. This is because a tincture is absorbed directly through the oral mucosa into the blood and therefore does not have to go through the entire digestive system. In addition, it is easier to dose in a targeted manner than with any other supplement because you can determine the amount of drops yourself.
Common Elder
Sambuccus is derived from the Greek word "sambuke" meaning flute and refers to the marrow-filled young flutes of the Elder that were very suitable for making flutes. Originally, the plant is native to Europe, Asia Minor and North America. Important constituents are flavonoids, tannins, mucilages, phenolic acids and essential oil.
Zilverlinde
Tillia is derived from the Latin word "Telum" meaning spear, because the light and pliable wood of the linden was used by the Romans to make handles of spears. The plant is native to Denmark, Spain, southern Sweden and southern Norway. Important constituents are mucilages, tannins, flavonoids, organic acids and saponins.
Yarrow
Achilea Achilea refers to the Greek general Achilles, as his soldiers used yarrow during the Trojan War to stem bleeding wounds. The plant is native to the subtropical regions of Europe and western Asia. Important constituents are essential oil, flavonoids and alkaloids.
