Mattisson Solidago Complex
Suggested retail price: €23.95
Mattisson Solidago complex tincture is a balanced blend of Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea, herba), Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva ursi, folium), Birch (Betula pubescens, folium) and Cat's moustache (Orhosyphon aristatus, folium).
What is a tincture?
A tincture is an alcohol-based solution of various herbal extracts. These herbs are extracted from dried plants, shrubs, leaves, mushrooms, seeds, resin and flowers, among others. All valuable substances are manufactured by soaking them in pure, organic alcohol. The alcohol ensures that the active ingredients are properly extracted from the herbs and at the same time it functions as a preservative. Finally, the tincture is strained, leaving a powerful mother tincture.
The advantage of a tincture over a regular supplement is that absorption is faster. This is because a tincture is absorbed directly through the oral mucosa into the blood and therefore does not have to go through the entire digestive system. In addition, it is easier to dose in a targeted manner than with any other supplement because you can determine the amount of drops yourself.
Goldenrod
Solidago comes from the Latin word for heal and strengthen: 'solidare', pointing to its ancient reputation as a wound cure. Originally, this plant grows in Europe and Western Asia. Its major constituents are flavonoids, triterpene saponins and phenolic acids.
Bearberry
Arctostaphylos comes from the Greek words "arktos" and "staphyle" meaning bear and grapes. In fact, it seems that bears are fond of these grapes. Originally, Bear grape is native to the colder regions of the northern hemisphere (Iceland, Scandinavia and North America). Its main constituents are glycosides, tannins, flavonoids and triterpenes.
Birch
Betula is derived from the Celtic "betu" which stands for beating. This name refers to the ancient Scandinavian custom of beating with birch branches to stimulate circulation. Birch is a phenomenon in the northern hemisphere (Europe, Asia and North America). Its main constituents are flavonoids, essential oils, tannins, phenolic acids and saponins.
Cat mustache
The name cat mustache refers to the particularly long stamens of this plant. The plant is native to humid regions of Southeast Asia and Australia. Important constituents are minerals, flavonoids, organic acids and essential oils.
