Mattisson Pine Needles Complex
Suggested retail price: €24.95
Mattisson Pine Needles Complex tincture is a balanced blend of Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris, folium), Mountain Pine (Pinus montana, gemmae), Narrow Plantain (Plantago lanceolate, herba) and Common Thyme (thymus vulgaris, herba).
What is a tincture?
A tincture is an alcohol-based solution of various herbal extracts. These herbs are extracted from dried plants, shrubs, leaves, mushrooms, seeds, resin and flowers, among others. All valuable substances are manufactured by soaking them in pure, organic alcohol. The alcohol ensures that the active ingredients are properly extracted from the herbs and at the same time it functions as a preservative. Finally, the tincture is strained, leaving a powerful mother tincture.
The advantage of a tincture over a regular supplement is that absorption is faster. This is because a tincture is absorbed directly through the oral mucosa into the blood and therefore does not have to go through the entire digestive system. In addition, it is easier to dose in a targeted manner than with any other supplement, because you can determine the amount of drops yourself.
Scots Pine
Pinus is derived from the Celtic word "pin" which stands for rock and indicates that this tree originally grows in mountainous areas. Originally, this tree grows in Northern, Eastern and Central Europe, Western Asia, Scotland and Spain. Important constituents are essential oil, bitter substances, resin and tannins.
Narrow Plantain
Plantain means "that which widens at the roadside," as this plant is often found along roadsides. Originally, this plant grows in Europe, North and Central Asia and North Africa. Important constituents are iridoids, mucilages, silica, tannins, bitter substances and flavonoids.
Common Thyme
Thymus comes from the Greek word "thymon," meaning to burn, due to the use of thyme as sweet incense. The herb is native to the Western Mediterranean (Portugal, Spain, southern France) and Greece. Major constituents are essential oil, flavonoids, triterpene acids, phenolic acids and tannins.
